Pie Place 1964

DESCRIPTION: Ampthill. The Pie Place. The white building was built during WW2 in 1942 as a Cooking Depot providing food for the area. It was known as the Pie Place. After the War it was used for various educational purposes. Here it is In 1964. Play area in the foreground. Rod Warrington lived at the Cedars from 1949 to 1965 where his parents were in charge of day to day operations - father Bert as Superintendent and mother Ella as Matron. The fourth member of the family was Daphne - Rods sister This is one of the photographs that Rod has kindly provided for inclusion on this website.
